Organic v/s Inorganic growth.
Inorganic Growth: A co. "A" acquiring "B"
Organic Growth: "A" growing on account of a strong balance sheet, and using its own reserves.
Now let us apply the same to an individual ...
Inorganic Growth: Mr. A jumps from co. to co. and grows in terms of salary and post.
Organic Growth: Mr. A sticks to a co. and moves to the top of the co.
In which case is he more sensible ?
I feel that growing inorganically, though not a financially sound decision ( I may be wrong) is the way to go. It gives satisfaction to the individual and god returns to the co.
Loyalty is another issue here. Is it relevant in today's world of infinite opportunities for brilliant talent ?

Coming soon ... my own version of the following poem .. :D .. till then enjoy the original :D
- Baa, baa, black sheep.
- Have you any wool ?
- Yes sir, yes sir,
- Three bags full.
- One for the master,
- One for the dame,
- And one for the little boy
- Who lives down the lane.
- Thank you said the master,
- Thank you said the dame,
- Thank you said the little boy
- Who lives down the lane.
- One to mend the jerseys,
- One to mend the socks,
- And one to mend the holes
- In the little girl's frocks.
Shall We Dream ?
Watching the movie "Shall We Dance" made me think about Dreams. Some that are chased and some that are not.
It is better to have chased and failed than, having failed to chase.
No more gyaan. Can't put into words, what the movie made me feel. :D

Old Pencils are meant to be thrown away....
Old Cobwebs are meant to be blown away.....
Old Friends are meant to Fade away from our memories ... ????...
*******************************
Scene 1:
A bunch of Engineering rookies who spend the best part of their learning years together. When they finally walk into the real world, they plan to stay in touch forever. As the months roll by, old promises are kept. A mail a day, keeps the memories alive. A Forward a day somehow replaces the tradition. A few good souls try to keep the group together with sentimental mails. Trying to revive old memories. Urging all to post. The group final dies a natural death.*******************************
Scene 2:
At a later stage of life, enroute higher studies, two such good souls come together with a bunch of other Engineers. This Band of Engineers, is destined to stay together considering the level of maturity the group shows. It seems History wont repeat. .. Alas ... A few months after college, the few good men try to keep the group alive. Constant email, phone calls and even planned meetings. But destiny has its own say. The group dissolves as earlier. ************************************Some disturbing questions ? ?
------------------------------
Is there anything such as life-long Friendship ?Should an attempt even be made to try and keep things together, or let people live their life in peace, since they dont want to be disturbed ?Why do the good souls get so frustrated that, in the end, they are the farthest from the entire group ? Did they try too hard for their own good ?******************
If you have answers to these questions .. I desperately need them ...

My Journal
(Preserved old pages)
Life at IIT - Mar. 03, 2005 at 06:06 AMThis is for all who have been wondering why I have been missing.... what I have been doing..... and so on.
Someone suggested I should write a Journal to keep my Family & Friends updated about my whereabouts.

Well i am here in Chennai.... everybody knows that. Life is Beautiful..... not for me... but those who miss me. I am doing my M.Tech Chemical Engineering. Right now i am in the final phase of my MTech. Just polishing off my Project. I am working on Distillation Columns... (the same tall columns used in petrochemical industries... for the uninitiated).... :-) My Guide is a cool person... Dr. Kannan A. I have been taking undue advantage, i feel guilty... but then I am a student.

Have some really cool friends here.Let me classify them into some categories: 1. Monkeys. 2. Evolved Monkeys. 3. Deer. 4. Star turtles. 5. Birds. 6. Professors (Faculty)... they are not humans. # MONKEYS They are in the process of evolving. They manage to unscrew bottles but dont drink from the bottle yet (still something to learn). They like to enter our rooms through windows.. doors.. wherever possible and enjoy themselves. MASI once gave me a packet of snacks... it went as a tribute to a monkey. My room partner lost some ear buds and pooja material in the process. # EVOLVED MONKEYS This is the class to which I belong. I have great classmates (all more brilliant than me). Some really cool buddies. You can see their photographs in my album. *****
NIRAV: Chemical Engg. Shares most of my tastes of Music and a passion for troubling others. In BE I thought i was a king trouble maker... he has corrected me. We are trouble makers in a sense that we are both real SADISTS. By the way, he is a Gujarati. We have had several fights over my claims that I am a Kutchi and not a Gujarati. Believes in the phrases "Do It"and "Dont trust anybody". His guide taught these to both of us. The last thing we trusted was him making this statement. *****
PARAG: Architect. He is trying to expand his horizon by learning new courses in the Building Technology and Construction management department. He is called "Google" by all. Very brilliant and a great architect. Loves to watch Movies and analyse them (criticise and technically analyse... he is good at it .... believe me). He almost reviewed all the Oscar movies this year. He is also from aamchi Mumbai. Also, he loves photography. ****
YOGESH: Chemical Engg. He is a BARC scientist. He is our Spirutual guru. Loves to talk about Politics, Economics, Chemical Engg, Spirituality, Chanakya niti, Chakras, Yoga..etc. phew... Another genius. A big fan of our prez Mr. A. P. J Kalam. Likes to play TT and sleeps a lot (the word "lot" really underestimates his sleeping habits). Another Gujarati, who is angry with my KUTCHI mantra. ****
MOHIT: Chemical Engg. From the Capital city. He is of my calibre when it comes to studies.... but is a good sportsman.... too good at almost any sport. Loves to eat parathas and butter. Enjoys watching movies. Everything for him is FUNDOO. Likes comparing everything to that available in his home town... (says everything is cheap there)... I beg to differ.... the policiticans have been very expensive for our country.****
# Deer: We have CHITAL as well as BLACKBUCK (the latter is highly endangered species)... remember the Salman khan fiasco. I have some photographs but have to scan them... will upload them soon. # Star Turtle: Again endangered. I saw one crossing the road... and got the opportunity to pick it to transport it to safety (across the road). Trying to get some pics. # Birds: Quite a few species... but difficult to track in the Hostel zone. # Faculty: They are a class apart. Most are good.... but as usual you have some who .... you wonder... what are they doing here? They have been trained to churn out brilliant engineers for the industry....unfortunately most dont have any industrial experience. Fortunately my guide has experience at L&T as well as Engineers India Ltd. Apart form all this we have "Extramural lectures" featuring the likes of: * Mr Narayan Murthy * Mr. Arun Shourie and also several Nobel Lauretes. Life is Amazing and fast. Unfortunately all this will end by this May (2005) when i am expected to be kicked out the institute. Then I shall miss my Friends but meet my long lost Family. Ahhh Blisss... and I shall live happily ever after.
