Organic v/s Inorganic growth.

Inorganic Growth: A co. "A" acquiring "B"
Organic Growth: "A" growing on account of a strong balance sheet, and using its own reserves.

Now let us apply the same to an individual ...

Inorganic Growth: Mr. A jumps from co. to co. and grows in terms of salary and post.
Organic Growth: Mr. A sticks to a co. and moves to the top of the co.

In which case is he more sensible ?

I feel that growing inorganically, though not a financially sound decision ( I may be wrong) is the way to go. It gives satisfaction to the individual and god returns to the co.
Loyalty is another issue here. Is it relevant in today's world of infinite opportunities for brilliant talent ?

What say you ?

Inorganic growth would be good if the individual is not looking for a career but simply for a pay hike. But then again it depends on what you term as inorganic growth. Is it inorganic growth when an individual changes companies on almost a yearly basis or doe the individual change jobs once in 3-4 years. In my opinion the latter case would be the ideal case.
